Looking For Dorm.

I am quite busy today. We are scouting for dorm for my daughter who will start her college next month. The national state university have their own dorms, but we fail to qualify. They prioritize those who came from provinces and distant areas. Ours may not be considered so distant since we are in the south of the uni but the travel time with traffic will be a daunting 2-3 hours, not mentioning if there is rain.

Sam didn't qualify for a uni dorm, either. He's still at home and they bought him a bike to make the ride back and forth to his classes. He does live much closer to the uni than you guys do, though... He makes the bike ride in about an hour each direction. I hope you can find a place for your daughter to live that is within walking distance of the school. Good luck!

@rakski I feel sorry for Sam when it storms and he still has to ride his bike to school and home again.

@DaddyEvil yes, he will for sure will be soaking wet when he gets home. But what is worse is when it is raining when you are going to school. He can have a raincoat but pants might get wet too

I wish you luck in your efforts. 2 to 3 hours is reasonable time to travel. And I hope they will consider this being it is she. That'll be great on their part!

@rakski Welcome! Those 2-3 hours is one side traveling or to and fro? Yes, that time-saving will also save her from a lot of trouble as well.

thank you! 2-3 hours of travel will take a lot of time for her instead of resting or studying

I hope you can find a good one. I remember my oldest girl who had to stay with friends in a rented condo near her university.

Unfortunately, most of my daughter's friends are either in La Salle or UST.

@rakski - She needs to be closer and not to spend so much time on the road.

Good luck looking for a dorm. I know that sometimes when they can't find a dorm, some kids team up and roommate in a house. I don't know if that's an option or not.

I hope you can find something suitable. My nephew's dorm room the first year he was in college was about the size of a large closet. Hard to see how he could get dressed in there without banging into stuff

You must represent your case and show them proof about the time it takes for you to travel. Good Luck

Oh I faced this same problem during my college admission. My house was 2 hours away from college so they didn't consider me for hostel allotment!
