I have an open appointment at the fracture clinic , meaning that I can go whenever I need to ….in pain, brace moved etc…. I did however arrange to see the consultant today too….she is lovely, calm, patient, caring, spends time talking, listening and helping. She has arranged for me to have another Doppler scan as the last one was incomplete, as I couldn’t move my arm at that stage to get the scan done properly. I also have more painkillers. Dressing under my arm was changed. I have to go back in two weeks time to see the Head Consultant ! The arm is healing very slowly , maybe a combination of the fact it was such a bad break and my age …..but it is healing, so that’s good news.

If you are over 50 years old, the possibility of bone formation cell regeneration decreases and indirectly all of this is related to substances contained in the blood.

It is good you can have a walk in appointment whenever you need it. I know we seem to do everything slower as we age, even heal.

It must be so frustrating. Hard to believe you are on pain pills after this length of time..My ex who broke his leg seems to be OK. He is about to start driving again later this month, but is taking an uber on Saturday to come to a little get together.

I'm glad your arm is healing, even if it is going slower than you want it to... At least they renewed your prescription of pain meds. That's always helpful!

Healing can take a lot longer as we get older. But it sounds all good news.
