Road trip time! But first, music time! You knew these guys would show up, but this probably isn’t the song you were expecting. I like to surprise a little…just not too much.
Here’s today’s sunny song.
I’ll Follow the Sun - The Beatles
Yep, no “Here Comes the Sun” or “Good Day Sunshine.” What will I do next, skip an obvious Boz Scaggs song? (Answer: no!
)
Paul McCartney said he was about 16 when he wrote this song, and he’d just gotten over the flu. The one thing he didn’t have to say is that the Everly Brothers influenced the harmonies in the bridge.
This song isn’t two minutes long, but it seems like it transports you for hours.
I’ll Follow the Sun
Written by Paul McCartney (credited to Lennon/McCartney)
Recorded by The Beatles
From Beatles for Sale, 1964

I know, you just don’t get all of the good ones played. I’d rather hear this than “Come Together.”

I think they are well known everywhere. They were certainly lightning in a bottle when it comes to talent and popularity.

You’re not going to believe this, but I don’t see very many on the list that you won’t know…or at least recognize the name of the singer.
