We are developing property in Raymond, WA, in the outskirts between South Bend and Raymond. It's a small, more poor community if you listen to folk talk, and known for the Weyerhausser Paper Corporation. You can see this watermark almost anywhere. The city is named after one of the town's early families. It began as a central point of the lumber industry in the 1800's. It is near the mouth of the Willapa River (our property has a view of the river), and flows into the Willapa Bay. Along the 101, inside town and along the different roads, you will see the Wildlife Sculptures of bear, fox, horses, mt. lions and more. Local artist started this around 1993 and over time, it has grown throughout the city. The Willapa Seaport Museum is a must see. It has a vast amount of nautical items; i.e., ship wheels, telegraph radios, whale bones, and other interesting items. In the building over, houses items from the Northwest with over 60 carriages, buggies, wagons and more. It houses the carriage used in the movie, "Gone with the Wind." Be sure to stop by the "talking horse" and take a photo next to the stuffed bear. Drive a short few miles down to South Bend, WA and see the self-proclaimed "World's Largest Oyster" in South Bend, WA, the Oyster Capital of the World. It's not real of course but quirky and fun to get a photo by. You can watch the special dredging oyster boats in the Willapa. If you like oysters, go to Chester Tavern, a local haunt, for the best fried oysters around. Washington is the number 1 oyster state in the country. Raymond's current population is about 3,500 people, give or take a few. There are more female than males and the median age is about 45 years old. Income is much lower and many work at the local hospital (South Bend), small stores, banks or drive to the larger city of Aberdeen. Income is near $55K for the average worker. Cost of living is lower than average but there are at least 18% living in property (according to City-Data dot com.) New data hasn't been updated. I see many rebuilding, remodeling, sprucing up and make many nice changes to the town. Photo is of our property sunset on the fourth of July.

The sunset is so beautiful. SO you develop a lot of properties in different places? I think that's so cool.

Thanks for taking us on a tour. I love going to visit "the largest" things. My husband and I were in WA many years ago. We went from Tijuana, Mexico to Vancouver Canada.
