Finally found it

I remember one snowy day I wrote Regis’s name in the snow and then took a picture of it to send to him. I tried to find it after Regis had passed say but couldn’t. Not on my phone and not in messenger. Finally managed to find it today by searching his Facebook profile. Don’t know why the photo cuts off his name a little bit on both sides but I’ll take that picture instead of not having the picture at all. Regis was a fellow poet and friend who passed away in June of this year. I was shocked to learn of his passing. It still feels surreal that he is no longer here. Recently, I went on messenger and next to his name it said that he had been active thirty minutes ago. I went to his profile to see what new poem he had posted only to realize he is no longer here. Wonder why messenger gave me the message that he had been active when he couldn’t have been.

It's possible a family member was active on his account. I know a lot of people who have passed that still have active Facebook accounts, managed by their family to keep their name alive. There is a paintball teammate of mine who passed away a few years ago, and his wife still keeps his Facebook account active. Every year on his birthday, and at major holidays, she posts old photos of him just to keep memory of him alive.

Perhaps. However, there were no new posts on his profile though.

@lovebuglena Interesting. So the account has been abandoned, whether intentionally or unintentionally?

That's very strange. Could the message have got stuck in the ether somewhere for a few months. Who would know. I'm sorry you lost your friend.

It’s not an actual message. It’s just next to a person’s name it tells you if a person is active or how long ago they were active.

@JudyEv I’d a person is online there is a green dot. If they were active before it will say how long ago.

Sounds like someone in the family has the password to his account or his account has been hacked.

This is strange. I think you can report to Facebook and memorialized the profile.

That's so odd. Maybe a family member is using his account. So glad you found that picture.

Nice that you found it. Sad that you lost him. I lost my BFF of nearly 40 years about 3 years ago. It still seems weird that she isn't around on this plane any more.

I am sorry you lost a dear friend. Sometimes habits are hard to break until it sink in to us that things change already.

I'm so sorry about Regis. I don't know why messenger would say he was active unless it was a troll.

I thought maybe a family member logged on to post of his passing. Not the case.
