The electric co op has their annual meeting, and they also ask people to designate a proxy to vote in meetings on their behalf. I haven't filled out anything before, but early voting can potentially give you some cash, so why not? The electric coop used to have annual picnics to attend, that were fun, and the last one was great, but being Virginia in the summer time..there was a bad thunderstorm with tornado warnings that started halfway through and kind of ruined it. Luckily I got there early, got my goodies and got out!

We have the annual voting also. I have filled ours out and sent back just about every year since we owned this property. It's been 17 years now, so I should be hitting the jackpot soon!

Our Bank used to have an annual meeting at a restaurant. Then the number of clients grew so much that they cancelled.

Even their annual meeting is virtual now. Before the picnic they had a breakfast event for the annual meeting. Guess they are not doing that now either.

@snowy22315 - I liked those meetings, we met plenty of people we knew.

We have an electric company, not a co-op here. It's a monopoly. They sent out letters advising us that they'll be raising our rates in another month.

None of this sounds very familiar to me. I think our power all comes from the one provider which is run by the government. No picnics for us.

The majority of people in this state get their power from coroporate entities. The Co Op is member owned supposedly and has input into the leadership. Some states have deregulation where the power companies bid on who provides your power.

It is fun to vote and wish cash prizes at an electric co-op meeting.
