What No One Tells You About Adulting

Maybe it’s my age showing—or just too much time on my hands—but I’m impressed by the two Walmart $2.97 Deluxe Cooler Shopping Tote Bags I bought today. They’re much better quality than the ones I got at Tops Friendly Markets a few years back. When that one tore—THAT ONE TORE from the bottom of the handle, across the lid, and down the side. Let me tell you, it happened right on my patio, and I was just grateful I was home—and that nothing in it was breakable.
Isn’t it funny, though, the things that tickle us as adults? We each have a favorite pillow, spatula, pen, seat in the car (when we’re not the driver), etc.
What’s something ordinary that you’ve gotten unusually attached to?

A spoon, a fork and a butter knife, lol.
It's leftover from a partial set my mom gave to me in 1984 when I was first married.
*looks both ways*
I sometimes even wash them by hand to use them at a meal, lol.
Don't tell anyone though, they may call me strange.

I don't like salad forks, teaspoons, or tablespoons. I prefer dinner forks and iced tea spoons.

@Vikingswest1 Same here. I rarely use a salad fork.

A butter knife
I haven't had a proper butter knife in years
Probably because it became redundant when all these spreadable butters in tubs came along and it got lost or thrown out

My recliner. I spend 24/7 in it; and I'm thankful it's so comfortable. I have special tables that pull right up to it so I can eat or be on the computer. My tables are a favorite too.

At Christmas I bought some of those bags and used them instead of gift bags for my sister-in-law because the selection of gift bags was pricey and very picked over. She really gets good use out of them. I like that they are not so big that you will be tempeted to over load them. I have lots of favorite things.

@Ineeddentures Mine absolute favorite one was given to me in 1988. It said, "It's not that I'm absent-minded. I'm just going through mental pause." In 1994, I had it in the middle of the counter—where I kept it all the time. Something must have startled my cat while I was out, because when I got home, she looked sad and gulity and my mug was in pieces on the floor.

6 years or so I have had it.
Carefully washed and dried after every use.
It is my best coffee mug by far

I am forever buying bags to put the Christmas gifts for parties I organise rather than wrap them in gift wraps. Here is one
