After 18 days, my nephew is now going home. He underwent several procedures before the laparoscopy. He underwent PRI with contrast for the abdomen and 2 endoscopy, which they call it ERCP. The last time I went there, two days after the operation, he had a drain that was taken out two days ago and then was observed for pain, and finally he is now good for discharge. It took them a while but at least he is pain-free now.

That was a long confinement. What was the final diagnosis?

@rakski oh i see. I never realized how long recovery takes. Anyway, if everything goes well, it will be a one-time surgery, but there are some foods he should avoid because the gallbladder function has been removed from his system, so digestion may be slower, and certain foods should be consumed in moderation.

@rsa101 it got a little bit complicated with him because one stone got stuck on a narrow duct that causes the pain which the first doctor thought was hyperacidity.

I'm glad he's finally being discharged from the hospital and is feeling much better now. I hope he finishes healing quickly.

@rakski That's good... Not that I want him to feel pain, but that it only is from the incision.

That's good. Can I ask? What was the diagnosis of your nephew? I'm just curious!

gall gallstone in the bladder became complicated when one big stone was stuck in the smallest part of the gallbladder, which caused him so much pain. Then the doctors need to check if some stones have spilled into the common duct near the liver and other organs, because all the stones should all be removed

That's good news. The bad news is hospital bills.
