I have never felt comfortable opting for hair wash in a salon. There have been stories how carelessness has resulted in deaths. Bending the head the way you see in the photo is risky
I have just about had my hair cut and done a bit of pedicure in a salon These days the stylist comes over.
What has been your experience?

@Jenaisle Would you like to trade hair for a few days? Mine is down to the middle of my back and curly... I keep it in a low ponytail most of the time except when it's drying and I leave it loose.
I think you'd look interesting with long, dark red, curly hair.
Photo is mine. My hair taken in 2023.

It does not cost us much using the services of a salon even calling them over.

@allknowing I have no idea how much it costs here because 97% salons here don’t offer that service. You have to be rich or to know someone. I’m not even saying it costs a bunch of money; people just generally don’t do it.

@allknowing - When we lived in Monte Carlo, I heard a hairdresser being pretty rude with a woman who only wanted to trim her very long hair, but she had no time for a shampoo before cutting.

I've had my hair washed and cut in salons most of my adult life. Most beauticians are skilled and take good care of their customers. Remember, they're hoping for a nice tip with each wash and cut they do. If they hurt someone, they could lose their job as well as pay for the doctor bill.

@allknowing Yes, it's rare in the US... Most beauticians go to school to learn their job so rarely make mistakes like that.

I have long hair. I trim it myself. I do not remember the last time I went to a salon. I know that especially for elderly women the position in your picture puts stress on the blood vessels and can cause a stroke. I used to use henna on my hair but I got tired of the work. I found it healthy for my hair and scalp though and may try to find something that will not change the color but will do similar for my hair. Again, I will do it myself. I usually have my hair pulled back in a hair tie or twisted and clipped at my scalp.

I don’t go to hair salons. My husband cuts my hair and I wash it myself.

I always enjoyed visits to a salon but now I just keep my hair clipped shoulder length and do nothing else to it
