Now that Solitaire is gifted to a charitable trust efforts are made to create earning opportunities. The first thing that comes to mind is to offer lodging - just lodging We need to prepare a room adding some amenities. There is an independent entrance to the room upstairs. There is a thought to conduct courses - singing, dancing, public speaking, yoga. All these are just ideas and hope they will soon take shape

Turning it into a space that supports a charitable trust through income-generating ideas is both practical and meaningful.

These are just thoughts and I am sure they will turn into possibilities. Thank you

Renting out a room could indeed generate some revenue. As could conducting courses. You could sell snacks and drinks at breaks in the courses..

I think that is a very admirable thing to do. offering some worthwhile activities to anyone who wants to learn a few new skills. Learning these skills and putting them to good use can often change someone's life.

@allknowing I hope so too. One person might learn something and put it to good use if such life skills are made available.

I would have made it plain to the nuns that it was still my home until my hubby and I passed on and then the nuns could use it however they chose. I wouldn't want the hassle and commotion that guests would cause, especially in my later years. You may find you wished you had thought about giving your home into the care of the charitable trust more before you did actually signed it over.

@allknowing I have grown more insular with older age and the sicknesses that are still making the rounds in the US... I don't want people I don't know in my house. I hope you don't grow to regret giving your home away.

Renting that room that has an independent entrance is an excellent idea. Rent the garden for "wedding parties". It's popular now to have a party in a beautiful garden.

I will have to make some changes in the garden for that.

@allknowing - You can start with the room and add some services later.
