Checking in from Melbourne, Australia

The photo shows a clever sculpture we saw at New Norcia, Australia’s only monastic town.
We’re now in Melbourne, Australia, and it’s cold. Melbourne is known for its four seasons in one day so I’ve bought beanies and gloves with me.
It was a long day yesterday. We had to get on the plane outside which involved lugging our hand-luggage up steps to the plane. When we got to Melbourne, we seemed to walk for ages just to get out of the airport. Eventually we found the right bus to take us into Melbourne itself. We had coffee and chips in Hungry Jacks, then caught a taxi to our AirBnB.
We didn’t get into the place till nearly midnight. We thought there might have been some long-life milk in the place but no luck there. So we’ve had black tea for breakfast and shortly we’ll head off to our son’s place.
We’ve connected to the wi-fi here so I should be able to spend some time here from time to time.

Interesting photo...
I'm glad the trip went well. I hope you don't get too cold there. (What is the temp? 20C?
)
I hope your son is doing better than you think.

@JudyEv At 10C is when I switch from jean shorts, tank tops and sandals to long jeans, a short sleeve shirt and real shoes.
I'm glad it's not too cold.

I'm sure that was quite a long flight for you going from one coast of the country to the other. How long did the flight take? I just looked it up, and for me to fly one-way to Melbourne from where I live would cost $1800 USD, and take 22 hours!

@JudyEv Your flight wasn’t quite as long as I thought it would be. But, yes, I imagine the flight to Ireland would be quite a long venture!

It was only 3 1/2 hours but negotiating the airport was a long walk then we walked extra trying to find the Skybus.

It's been two years since we've seen him. It's quite an effort to go to visit him but we try to go when we can.

It's been really nice to see him again. We spend most of each day together and have two more days to go.

We don't really want to move to Melbourne and he doesn't want to come to Perth so at the moment we're trying other alternatives.
