I just love a Toby Carvery….i think we are lucky in the Midlands as we do seem to have quite a few. Our favourite one isn’t the closest to our house but we don’t mind the short drive as the food is much better there. So what did I have ….. Turkey and pork Roast potatoes Mashed potatoes Macaroni cheese Spring cabbage Giant Yorkie Gravy Absolutely Delicious To drink I had lager and lime. Plus I got 20% off using blue light discount and got a stamp on my Toby card. What’s your favourite eat out meal ?

What is a "yorker"? I'd pass on the gravy and the mac n cheese but everything else sounds good. My favorite meal out is Americanized Chinese food, namely Springfield style cashew chicken... It's white meat chicken breaded and deep fried with cashew sauce, bunch onions and cashews on top.

@Vikingswest1 It was "invented" by a chef in Springfield, Missouri about 70 miles from where we live. A LOT of small restaurants offer it on their menus in this area now. Pretty makes it for me once in a while if I cut up the chicken and chop up the other ingredients for her. Any time she offers to make it, I'm ready in the kitchen to help! Springfield style cashew chicken... The image is not mine. I give Pretty the rice that comes with my serving...

@DaddyEvil THAT looks good! I think I'll try making some. I'm sure there are recipes online.

It was yummy. They have a choice of 4 meats …you can choose or have some of each. I always have turkey, them either pork or beef or sometimes lamb.

I’ve only ever been to a Toby Carver when I’ve stayed at a Premier Inn and the restaurant is attached or nearby. From what I remember it was good value, especially the breakfasts. It’s not somewhere I would make a special trip to. Your meal sounds very carb heavy. Do you not like veg?

I don’t like their peas and I don’t like cooked carrots at all. Sometimes they have roast parsnips but not yesterday ….although that is carbs again..oh, I just checked I forgot to say I had cauliflower too. They didn’t have broccoli either ….
