Ah, the rabbit holes. Let me show you how my mind works. The other day I was watching a clip from an episode of M*A*S*H, where Charles took a captain to task for making fun of a young soldier who stuttered. It turned out that his sister, Honoria, also stuttered, which made him take the insult to the soldier personally. We discovered this when Charles settled down to listen to a taped message from his sister. She began excitedly telling him about the start of the symphony season, where the guest artist was Piatigorsky. You probably paid no mind to that. On the other hand, I wanted to know who Piatigorsky was! Long story short, I’m reading his autobiography on Archive right now. Gregor Piatigorsky was born in Russia and escaped to Poland when Communism took over his native land after World War I. He was a world-renowned cellist. So there…next time you see that episode of M*A*S*H on a rerun you’ll know exactly who she’s talking about! And, of course, the photo has nothing to do with that. That’s a couple of the kittens who hang out in my across-the-street neighbor’s yard, playing and wrestling (or, as we say in the south, “rasslin’” ). Their other sister isn’t pictured, but she was getting in on the fun as well. I made my neighbor a ringtone for her phone. She wanted James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good),” so I made it for her. I’ll check to see tomorrow if she got the e-mail. I’ll be getting back to reading the book in a minute. Right now, I’m watching a live cam from the Margaritaville Resort in Fort Myers.
