Swim rings for turtles?

I found it very interesting. Today you can buy many things online. I noticed there are even swim rings for turtles As some little turtles are not very good at swimming, and therefore you can not put a lot of water in the tank. Usually the water to the turtle's shells will be good enough. Otherwise some little turtles may choke on water and then it may lead to pneumonia. Although turtles are supposed to have long lives, but sometimes they are weak when they are small. In the tank there is a platform for my turtles to have sunbath. It's funny to imagine my turtles will have swim rings. I wonder whether they will enjoy it But they may never learn to swim well if they depend on the swim rings Anyway, my tank is not that big. I already grow different plants inside and it'll be crowded to have swim rings. I won't buy these swim rings although they are not expensive.

I always thought baby water turtles were excellent swimmers from the day they were born... I have seen prosthetic devices for turtles that have lost legs to shark bites or to plastic they get tangled in while swimming.

It is surprising that not all the turtles are good at swimming, especially when they are still little

@youless I've watched several videos that showed baby turtles racing for the water before something eats them. Once they reach the water, they're gone...

I hope it goes well for your turtles. They could use it off and on so they are still learning to swim without it and get strong.

I don't want to buy them because my tank is not very big to have them. Besides, I trust my turtles swim better step by step

@celticeagle For small pets I agree it's better to have two. But sometimes big animals like dogs one will be good enough.

@youless .......I'm glad you have two. I think everyone who has a pet should have two so they have someone of their own species to hang out with.

In fact my turtles are small. They are about 5-6 cm length.

That seems a very funny thing to put on a tortoise but I guess you're right about some being a bit weak when they're little.

I hope my turtles will grow up faster and it's easier to survive from winter.

It is very unusual that there are swim rings for turtles.

It looks more like a donut. I was not aware they were poor swimmers.

There are other patterns and they look more like swim rings.

You always assume that these creatures can swim …funny to think that they can’t and need a swim ring….
