Sipping hot cup of ginger and honey tea....

And writing this. My first and only online session with one child just got over. I am done for the work front for now, I have another online counseling session with a 29 years old female at 3 in the afternoon. It would be 20 to 40 minutes. She is one who does not use much of her words and online session does not work very well with her. But in this ongoing rain, they don't want to miss the session this week. Seems like listening to my voice twice a week keeps her motivated for the whole week.
. They missed the Monday session due to heavy rain and flooding in their area. They don't want to miss today's session as she is very adamant about that. Having an online session would be good this week as I don't want to pass on the germs and make others sick. My last session on work front is from 7:30-8:30 in the evening. It is always online as he stays in other city. I meet him thrice in a week to help him cope up with college life with some bit of ongoing counselling,, chatting and helping him with his academics. Today, we have to do the poem " Lone Dog" and help him talk about the summary.
My throat infection is much much better, it's almost gone, I would continue with the home remedies for a while though. My husband handed me this cup of tea and I am sipping it now. Feeling good now. I would switch off my laptop in an hour to give it some rest. Till then I can switch between here and some other sites and enjoy the online hustles.
It's no rain and no sun day so far. The clouds are there and it is cold. But no rain and I hope it continues like that. We had heavy pouring for an hour last night.
How is it in your corner? Stay happy and healthy.

@arunima25 We had some thunderstorms come through. Lots of thunder; but I don't think we got any rain.

Oh! I see. I wish I could send some rain from here. The rain has subsided in the last two days but yet not stopped. We have dark clouds still here. It might rain heavily. We are still under rain alert.

I'm glad those who need to talk with you still can without risking catching the sore throat from you. I think, sometimes, you need to talk to people for your own peace of mind, too. Does talking on myLot serve that purpose for you?
We had high heat again today and will have one more high heat day tomorrow before we get some cooler days. No rain predicted here until next Wednesday but that can always change. The humidity has been staying around 100%, which means rain or fog could happen at any time just from the water saturation in the air if something happened to cause the moisture to condense and fall even without clouds above us.

Yes, in a big way I feel very relaxed here. MyLot is a great place for me to unwind. Love interacting here with friends. That's why I love to be here whenever I get some free time.
I hope that you get some relief from the heat soon. The rain here has subsided bur not fully stopped. We are still waiting for a sunny day.

@arunima25 myLot is a good place for me, too... Once in a while, someone here will say something that lets me rant about some problem and then I apologize for doing a rant to them but I do feel much better afterward.
I'm still hoping I can see one morning after the time that a garage will be open so I can get tags on our car. I often can't see to drive but there's a big difference between me not being able to see to drive and the car no being legal on the streets here. One means I won't drive even in an emergency. The other means I might drive anyway and let Pretty pay any tickets I get...

@DaddyEvil I avoid unpleasant interactions here as I come here for a feel good factor. So, as soon as I feel that things are going ugly way, I stop and move on to other interactions.
What is this tag about? I get the understanding that without this tag, your car is not legal on streets. Am I getting it right?

Thank you. I love my work. Gives me pleasure and sense of accomplishment too. We have not got sun in the whole month almost. Rain has subsided, flood situation has improved. We are having clouds with drizzling. We get rain throughout the year, more in rainy season. I wish that I could send some rain to your side.

@arunima25 That is good. Our body also needs to be rested or stretched so we can make use of it at its peak.

I keep taking those breaks in between to stretch, walk around, do some chores and take a short power nap. I can not sit for more than an hour at a stretch. These in between breaks help.

It's good to know that you teach online. What particular area of teaching?

I am a special educator and counselor. I work with special needs children and youth, develop their curriculum meeting their needs and also counsel them and their families. I work with children as young as 3 years and my oldest student is 30 years. I do take few online sessions, but most of my work is offline. Online sessions are not so fruitful with these special needs.

No, I am not. I am not into answering any questions in the column. I hope that is what Agony Aunt means. I am a professional special educator and counselor for special needs and their family. I take online and offline ( most coming offline) sessions.

Sorry to hear you have a sore throat. You are very good not cancelling your on line sessions. I hope the tea has soothed your throat.

Thank you for the concern. My throat is doing good now, just a little bit of irritation is there, That should go away in few days. These home remedies like ginger tea are very effective. I am at home due to rain and my sore throat. I would go for these online sessions for a while.

thanks Arunimaji for the elaborate description of the affairs. i hardly like online sessions as the recipients' presence can hardly be felt. There is a separate charm of physical presence. During lockdown days i did it due to compulsion

I too like offline sessions. Online meetings with parents and colleagues is okay. But when it comes to classes, I like it physical with lots of fun and interactions. I work with special needs, and online sessions don't work with them.
