It Makes No Sense

Yesterday morning I was watching the news, and a story appeared, where there were houses, like a complex. Must have been 10 or 15 houses. Well, it appears it was the responsibility of the landlord to pay the water bill. But he didn't. The water was turned off, and no one had water. The bill was over $4000.00 dollars. I thought about it off and on all day, can't imagine having no water, no one has any. When our pipes use to freeze, we could send the kids to borrow water, but these poor people in the complex are all in the same boat. The one who didn't pay the bill, should be ashamed. It is sad, my heart went out to the people. Just wonder if the person lives there.

That is the sad thing, through no fault of their own.

I hope that they get their water back on soon.

The landlord should be fined at least and possibly arrested.

All the residents can refuse to pay their rental payment until the issue is corrected. They'll need to put it away and have it when the issue is taken care of. That's what I'd do. I'd visit every neighbor and tell them to withhold rent.

If that happened in the US, then those living in that complex have a lawsuit to file, in my opinion. Not having access to water makes those houses unlivable by government rules and regulations. The owner there won't be able to collect rent until that situation is corrected... I hope they bought water for drinking and cooking, at least. I don't know what they'd have to do about cleaning and bathing...

They should get an arrest warrant issued for the landlord,

That really should be a criminal act. I can't imagine not having water.

It is a shame that a landlord did not pay a water bill that caused trouble for the tenants.

Water is indispensable for our life. I can understand how difficult it must have been for the people in that complex.
