The Moroccan has passed away

My neighbor texted me yesterday that his cousin/former roommate had finally passed after being placed on hospice last week. I don't know what the actual issue was but he had been unwell and in a nursing home for the past 2 years or so. The 3 of us used to hang out either in their apartment or out on the landing and had many laughs together. One of the last updates I received prior to his death was that he weighed only 70 pounds and was unresponsive but that his son was there every day with him. That guy is an absolute creep but I know that it would make his father happy that he was there. They were estranged for many years when the kid was in prison. So he is gone now and hopefully finally at peace. There won't be any kind of visitation or memorial as there is no $$ for it nor would there be many people to show up for it. The woman in charge of his finances wouldn't spring for it anyway. My new kitchen goal is to figure out how to make his pepper salad. I don't know if it is a Moroccan thing. I'll have to do some research. Sleep well Chaibi.
