Authorities rescue seven people and two dogs who were aboard a sinking boat

Thanks to the teamwork of the United States Coast Guard (USCG), the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) and the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) who answered an emergency call on Wednesday July 23 afternoon.
One of the passengers called 911 to ask for help when their boat was sinking when the boat was taking on water.
The teamwork from the USCG, HCSO and HCFR were able to rescue a group of girls and their two dogs and take them to the dock at Apollo Beach safe and sound.

Thank goodness we have the Coast Guard. I wonder if these people didn't check their boat for leaks or what.

The passengers that were rescued most likely did not check the boat for leaks.

That's a lot of people and animals on the boat, and it seems that the boat was not checked for seaworthiness beforehand, as this type of thing should not happen to old seahands, but only to greenies.
