We finally received the final permit Thursday only to find PUD is 6 to 8 weeks out before bringing the transformer and run the electric lines.
On a good note, the contractors are coming this week to begin the other work. Finally!
We are boondocking on my son's property and doing pretty well with cooking, bathing, etc.
My son bought a new travel trailer so we both have our fully self-contained RV's set up.
Generators can be costly in gas, so I usually run mine every other day. To have my morning coffee, I'll run the generator at night to brew several Keurig cups and put in the refrigerator to warm up on the stove the next morning.
The night before last, we sat by the firepit and I made up a late night cup of coffee in my glass mug. I decided only to drink half and put the rest in the refrigerator to make sure I had enough for my morning fix until I brewed more.
I poured into a pan and got side-tracked, so it began to boil. I figured I could pour into the mug and let it cool while I washed my hair.
You guessed it. I poured it into the still cold glass mug and made it explode.
Coffee flew everywhere and half the mug fell off the counter, cut side down, onto my right foot. At first, I didn't feel it and was grabbing paper towels for the coffee, trying to stop the spread on both the counter and floor.
After I got the rest of the coffee cleaned, I began to feel my foot/toe burning. Then noticed trails from the bed area to bathroom from my running back and forth.
Seriously, the whole floor from my frantic back and forth, looked like a crime scene. It was then I looked at my toe; bone, gash and all.
I'm sporting a broken toe with a gash that needed inside and outside stitches. All because I didn't use my brain about boiling liquid vs a cold glass mug.
I did get my coffee. I wrapped my foot with gauge, texted my son to bring me a cup and then let him know what happened once I got my coffee.
Can we say totally addicted?
The weather has been beautiful in the day. Chilly at nights. This photo is from my trailer looking at the sunset over the Willapa river. Its taken here on my son's property.
I hope everyone is doing well. I'm headed to read some discussions before bed. Have a wonderful restful evening.

Sounds like you are having quite an adventure. I'm glad to hear than work is starting. It must be rather frustrating waiting on others. I know how that can be.

@noni1959 ......They probably put the one that takes the least time to accomplish at the bottom of their list.

Oh no! I'm so sorry about your toe. I hope it heals up soon. That's a lovely photo.

I hope you rest and get the medication on your toe. Good that you get a new trailer.

It did! The explosion, I sound dramatic,
was with a lot of force. The glass mug was a Mikasa Rose Pearl and those are thick. It was crazy how it came down and did that. Most likely my age and the arthritis made it worse. I get those purple bruises easy now.

Oh,my!! That’s a lot to deal with and now you are no doubt hurting from the accident. Those things happen sometimes,to all of us.
Hey, do you have an airpot? I have one that will keep coffee or hot water for hours. I use it when I get that sinking feeling that the power will be going down due to an ice storm or high winds, etc. They are a lifesaver!!
I hope you are not in pain, Loretta.
