Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 66 degrees F and raining here at the Jersey Shore. The high for today is just 74. Time to turn off the AC and open up the windows. I went to bed early again last night. 7pm has been the time for the past few days. I never sleep straight through the night so I was awake for some of that time. I also kept checking my bank account to see if my summer savings had been deposited yet even through I know very well it typically doesn't hit until 5am. No big plans for the day. It does not look like it is going to be a pool day which stinks. I haven't been over there for the past 2 days. Oh well. I'll just hang here with the cat crew and continue clearing out the fridge and freezer. What's everyone else up to today?

Good morning... It was 70F at 5:30 am when I took my morning meds and has only gone up 1 degree since then. I was just out in the yard and it feels NICE out there! (I pulled some weeds and some of the mint out of the flowerbed while I was out there. My hands smell like mint now. ) Our high today is supposed to be around 83F but the humidity is really low (for my area) at 62%. Pretty or I still need to go out and work around the yard dragging the downed walnut trees to the curb for the city to pick up and mulch. Nothing else going on here, as far as I know. Hope you have a wonderful day!

@NJChicaa Pretty planted three kinds of mint in and around the flowerbed in front of the house. If I had known they'd take over, I wouldn't have let her. Orange mint, chocolate mint and spearmint all smell good and, before they started mixing, they all tasted good. Now, they all burn my mouth when I chew a leaf of any of them. I've told her to buy ONE type and we'd plant it down in the forest at the end of the yard and let it take over in there. At least they all still smell good even if they don't taste good anymore.

@NJChicaa That's what I'm thinking will happen around the forest in the back yard... I LOVE the smell of mint and used to drink mint tea all the time but the doctors are complaining if I use sugar now... (ONE blood test showed high blood glucose levels so now I'm labeled diabetic for life. )

@DaddyEvil I had mint spearmint planted in the garden back at the house. The leaves were so thin and tender and perfect for mojitos. I put them in front of part of the fence in the front yard and eventually it grew under the fence and all around my raised vegetable beds. Every month or so my ex would mow it down and the yard smelled SO GOOD!

I would love to have those temperatures, but not with those flash flood warnings from last night. I hope it wasn’t as bad as they thought.

NYC got wholloped. I haven't heard anything from my ex so I am hoping that the basement is okay.

We are at 74 and that's the high for the day. So, so different than just two days ago! While the low temps are a welcome respite, we now have smoky wildfire haze and very poor air quality. Which of course, ruins going outside in the good temperatures if you have any respiratory issues. No sunshine today, it's covered up by haze.
