I found a £20 note on the pavement tonight right outside our front door.
I was going outside to smoke
It's been quite busy here tonight and lots of people have been walking along the street
So it was really kind of someone to drop it right at my door
I will buy petrol with it tomorrow and with the rest take Yvonne for a coffee in Mc Donald's
So whoever dropped it
Thank you so much
Enjoy

Didn't make me laugh..
If I had possession of £20 I would be lucky .
Yvonne keeps all my money for me
So it's secure.

@Ineeddentures - My husband for sure would never drop money, he never has money with him. I am sure that you really found that money. I only found 2 Swiss Francs yesterday, forgotten in the slot of a shopping cart.

It was dropped by Aliens to thank you for believing in them. They stopped by here to ask where they could exchange the dollars they got in Area 51 for pounds.
Score, Jimbo.

Just a quick check would have told them that the Bank of Scottland has been printing notes since 1695.
However I just learned they are unlike other currencies in that they are not legal tender and aren't accepted everywhere. They remain in circulation until they are deposited. They do not expire like other currency. The issuing bank must hold an equivalent amount of English notes or gold. They are removed from circulation upon deposit or cashing in. It says some retailers won't accept the notes and most won't accept the older notes.
I did not know this. Is that all true?

@Ineeddentures Northern Ireland also issues its own notes which , although sterling, English shops insist they are foreign currency and won’t be having them. They focus on the word Ireland and overlook the fact that Ireland uses the Euro.

Found money is always nice. The last time I found a $20 bill was when the wife and I were sitting inside Jack in the Box having some lunch and I happened to see it laying in the drive through lane. I went out and grabbed it. But that was probably 10 years ago. Normally I just find loose change.

Lucky you; I found a 20 lying in the sidewalk once with no one around. I used it for a large container of propane for my gas grill

Quite right.
I wouldn't care if anyone saw me kick it up
I would wave at them and rejoice my find.

Wait a min, you can pump petrol and still have coffee in Mcdonald after that.
I like the price of the petrol in UK.
It will take us a couple of hundreds to fill up our driving tanks in Singapore. Oil price if i remember correctly is about 2.50-2.70 per litre.
