Still no laptop but. . .

I found a little USB plug in that came with one of my two refurbished desk tops. It says it is a wi fi connector, and guess what?! I am typing on my desktop. It had gotten to where it would not recognize the ethernet cords after we had a storm in June. It locked me into airplane mode. Just like the laptop. According to my internet provider the router/modem is fine but I have my doubts. I will call them Monday and talk with them before I take my laptop to a shop. Having my desktop up and running makes me sooooooo happy. It also gives me a usable tool to check on problem solving for my laptop. I did try that USB wifi on the laptop and it did not seem to work.. If it had I would be going great guns on it as well. Not being online today meant that I mowed for quite a while and did other things outdoors. After we picked up Pedro, of course. The vet says he is about 8 months old. He will have to go back for a second dose of his feline leukemia and fiv vaccine. The helper who got him and put him in his carrier remarked that he is "all muscle" and I agree. Friday the vet told Pedro that God sent him to the right place to have a happy home. I wish all kitties could have a happy home. She shaved a 2x2 patch of hair and "popped out" the pellet from the pellet gun.Put a new skin patch on it, so no stitches. I will let you guys know if I learn anything new computer wise.I had gotten in and run some diagnostics and nothing wrong was found. Fingers crossed it is the router.
