Sometimes I wonder about my sister

Since dementia runs on one side of the family, I pay attention to these things. She just seems like she doesn't make connections with things alot of times. I will send her an email, and she will ask about something that was just in the email. She doesn't seem to understand the implications that well anymore. Also, I just told her I was going up to Erie the weekend after next, and she said the 23rd and 24th?? It reminds me a bit of my grandmother when she got it. Then she was saying at work, they are cutting back alot of her projects. She is retiring in March, but I wonder if she is doing adequate work on them? Of course she was working at home today, and I was probably interrupting what she was doing..but still. She says she has a number of projects lined up for when she retires, but I am wondering if half the time she will be sitting and staring. My bro in law isn't terribly interested in doing things outside of the house, and when he does it is usually to please her. I hope she finds something to do that interests her.

Dementia, one of the worst diseases ever. It steals our loved ones and friends away from us. I hope she can remain active and well.

I hope so They do travel a lot to see their sons, maybe that will help. One of them visits them pretty often too.

@MarieCoyle I hope so. She will need to find something to keep her mind engaged when she stops working.

Maybe if she is aware she has a problem, she will try to keep her mind as active as possible by keeping busy. I hope she will be OK, Snowy.

I wonder about my sister too.
I really do.
When we were younger she got very drunk and thought that I was her husband.

I think she does, but I hope one is a new hobby. A water aerobics class would be good too.

Yes, I think it is.Maybe her thinking will clear up when she doesn't have quite so much to think about, but it doesn't usually work that way.

@snowy22315 - Sadly not, it usually does not work that way.

I hope she keeps on top of her problems and seeks help if she needs it.

I don't think she sees it as a problem. If she gets any worse, I might pull bro in law aside sometime and see if he has noticed anything..

Maybe, but she is like this alot of the time it seems. Like she doesn't know how to interpret certain things.
