Last October Bob's oldest younger sister was going to marry the guy she had lived with for about eleven years. I was not sure it would happen, she had a full wedding planned eleven years ago and cancelled it. In 2024 she was absolutely determined that if not both of us, at least Bob would come to the wedding. We did not go, but she did get married. Yesterday she called Bob and told him she was not happy with hubby, she was going to sell her house, have a huge yard sale, and then go live with her sons in Oregon. How she will have a big yard sale I cannot imagine. She cannot even walk out down the drive to her own mailbox. I have not regretted not going one little bit. I do wish Bob could go see her. The guy she married has had five other wives. He has been a minister, he has been a college professor, but as far as I can tell, for the last eleven years or so he has been a moocher. Of course we also think she has dementia. This is the same sister that was living in a house with no heat or water in the middle of winter 2023. Hubby/guy was in a nursing home at that time. His daughters were not even checking on Elaine. I think it is time she moved closer to someone who could take care of her.

I would feel better if someone could help her, but I am not volunteering.

Definitely needs someone to look after her. After 11 years she didn't know this guy well enough? I feel sorry for her. I hope she finds somewhere that will make her happy.

No big wedding but a yard sale instead. That's smart.

Yes, I remember us talking about you not wanting to go to the wedding and why... We both wondered if the marriage would last. I guess you have that answer now. She can always hire someone to sell off everything if she wants. I do hope she asked the sons in Oregon about moving out to live with them.

I feel this was never going to end well. Sounds like she does need someone to look after her.
