Red bird, red bird

I've been seeing a lot of red birds lately. They seem to like my thorn bush, which has red leaves.
There are those who believe red birds are associated with angels, including the spirits of loved ones who have passed on. I don't know about that, but I do get a little thrill when I see one. How about you?

And they seem to be building a nest in the thorn bush -- I just saw a couple bring in twigs.

@BarBaraPrz I was so happy when our red robins came to build their nest in my garden.

It's rare but occasionally a red bird (cardinal) will appear on my deck. I do like to think it's a loved one who's passed on and stopping by to say hello.

Anyone in particular? Like, do you address them by name? "Hi, Mom" or something like that.

Are they Cardinals? Those are the only red birds I know.

Yes, they are, but I think there are some scarlet tanagers, too, and believe it or not, robins 'count' as red birds.

I like seeing any red birds really but our robins are very pretty.

I haven’t seen any red birds in our area. I know people say robins are departed …maybe that links in with their red tummy and your red bird idea…..
