You guessed it It is about Trump raising the tariff to Indian good up to 50%
Does he think he can get away with it? India kept quiet all this while.
Now he will have to face it. There are severa loose ends that Trump has to face. BRICS is fully with India too.
Let's wait and watch . Don't ask me what those loose ends are. You should know.
India loves challenges

We have to wait and watch. BRICS ( Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates. ) is with India.

@allknowing for EU it's difficult because Europe is dependent on Trump for its defense. They are stupid if they believe he will move a finger to defend Europe.

Trump's proposal to increase tariffs on Indian goods is undoubtedly a significant move, sending a strong message but also raising concerns for both nations. Trade decisions of this magnitude inevitably create ripple effects, particularly between two major and influential economies.
India has consistently demonstrated remarkable restraint and diplomacy, and with the dynamics of global alliances like BRICS evolving, the unfolding developments will be noteworthy. Rather than perceiving this as a standoff, there remains potential for dialogue and equilibrium.
Ultimately, cooperation yields far greater benefits for both countries than conflict. One can hope for rational deliberations and a fair resolution to emerge.

@id_peace Your country does not need to join any group, as it is fully capable of pursuing an independent policy tailored to its own needs and interests. Adopting a stance of neutrality, rather than aligning with or opposing specific groups, could provide significant benefits. Neutrality allows for the flexibility to trade with all parties, ensuring fair trade opportunities that favor your country's economic growth and stability.

According to him, he want to punish India for the high tariff set and the barrier to entry are high for the farm products. He want India to open up. Not surprise consider that US had lost China as one of the biggest importer of America product.
Not sure who will win but I am seeing a decline in living standards for the Americans because of him.

@allknowing That's like saying buying Cornflakes at Walmart doesn't add to Walmart's bottom line and only helps Kellog.
Russia makes money on its oil. Oil is Russia's biggest asset. Invariably, some of the money made on Russian oil will go into the war effort.

The short answer is yes. He can get away with it. Because again, we are the world's #1 consumer base and economy, and more than twice the size of China's economy. Do I agree with it 100%? That's another story. But can Trump do it? You bet he can and India stands more to lose than we do, honestly by making trade difficult with the United States.
How does a country with a $4.7 trillion dollar economy dictate to one with a $30+ trillion economy? They don't. Because they don't have the cards.

@allknowing India is not technically dictating anything. It can't. It doesn't have the money or the power to do that. What India IS doing is biting the hand that potentially feeds them and shooting themselves in the foot.
And by the way, who was the bully here? What part of India was charging the United States massive duties on their goods entering India are you missing? Why was India able to justify massive tariffs on U.S. goods, but now complains it may have to pony up tariffs if they want access to the United States?
