If you wonder why today’s “Where’s FourWallsdo” song is “Take It Easy,” it’s because of yesterday evening’s stop: Standin’ on the Corner Park in Winslow, Arizona.
And it’s such a fine sight to see!!!
A wall from a burned-out building was turned into a beautifully-painted mural to highlight the 1972 Eagles song. It includes “Winslow, Arizona” painted on the wall, with the reflection of a woman in a flatbed Ford truck in the window. On either side of the area are statues, one of Jackson Browne and the other of Glenn Frey. Above Frey’s head is a replica of the road sign from Royal Oak, Michigan (where they renamed the street in front of the high school Frey attended as “Glenn Frey Drive” after Frey died in 2016).
There’s also a real honest-to-goodness flatbed Ford parked on the corner!!
The gift shop across the street has Eagles music playing all the time, audible from the street, so it’s not safe for The Dude.
But for old Eagles fans like me, it really was “such a fine sight to see.”

I recall Winslow, How interesting. This sounds like a fun place to visit.

That sounds like such a perfect blend of music history and small-town charm.
Standin’ on the Corner Park is one of those spots where a song lyric just jumps off the record and into real life. The mural, statues, and even the parked flatbed Ford make it feel like a living tribute—like you’ve stepped into the song itself.
I can almost hear "Take It Easy" playing in the background while you describe it. I’m guessing it was hard to leave without humming the tune for the rest of the day.
Do you take photos at these stops, or do you mostly just soak them in?

I always take photos, but soak it in first. Thanks to the modern cell phones, it’s the best of both worlds. When I was a kid, it was a roll of 12 pictures in your camera, you had to get it developed, and you had no idea if the picture came out.
