What's going on the dinner table tonight? Share with us!
I am finally making the Steak Oscar that I had planned for last week. It is filet mignon topped with hollandaise sauce and crabmeat. To go with it I am making creamed spinach. Both of those recipes are from the Margaritaville cookbook. I'll make some jasmine rice to have on the side to soak up the juices and hollandaise sauce. It isn't going to be a cheap or heart-healthy meal but hey YOLO.

It's a good thing I don't live close to you...I would have invited myself to dinner. That sounds absolutely delicious!
We are having taco salads, son asked for them. I love them, too.

We have a good amount of whole wheat flour that hubby ground sitting around. I decided to make pancakes for supper with some of the flour. We also had home peanut butter for protein. I also had leftover pureed dates. And applesauce from our Gravenstein tree. The date mixture sweetened the tart sauce nicely. We did not need mollasses. We never buy syrup.

Please forgive me for Subway again. But you have to understand something about “out here”: you’re 20-40 miles between exits, and restaurants aren’t six on every street corner like they are at home…so I take what I can eat.
