Seeing the Colorado in Colorado

Good evening, everyone! I should be back in central time tomorrow. I’m sort of glad, because those days in Arizona, where they don’t observe daylight saving time but some of the Native tribes DO, had the clock was jumping from three hours back to two hours back and confusing the daylights out of me.
Tonight I’m east of Denver. My window’s facing west, so I’m watching a front range sunset.
The photo, though, is of the Colorado River. It starts in Colorado and flows on down toward the US/Mexico border, through the Grand Canyon, supplying much of the water to the southwest desert cities. This is much closer to its origin point. I took this at a rest area east of Rifle (where I stopped for lunch). A rest area unlike one I’ve ever seen: there was parking for vehicles pulling watercraft AND a put-in place into the river! Usually you have to go to a marina or a public boat launch for such luxuries. In Colorado? Just pull off I-70 and drop your line in the river, or pull out the kayak!
The Colorado runs close to the interstate for a number of miles (I didn’t clock how many because I was too busy admiring the scenery
), making a beautiful drive moreso.
Photo is of the Colorado River at a rest stop along I-70 east.

Absolutely. The drive down interstate 75 in Kentucky is like that, especially in autumn!

@MarieCoyle — it’s about 61F here in Colorado tonight. Supposed to be in the 90s tomorrow.

@TheHorse — no way I could do that, not with my health. I’m thankful you got that terrific experience.

@FourWalls I have hiked in the Grand Canyon, but not all the way down to the River.

It is inspiring to see someone constantly on the move and exploring various places. How much longer do you intend to continue this kind of lifestyle? I wish I could experience that as well, but I have doubts about managing it for several days, as I now find myself getting tired more easily during long road trips.

Until I’m no longer physically or financially capable.
I know what you’re saying. This trip has taken a lot out of me. But I have enjoyed it thoroughly!

@FourWalls I know exactly how it feels because I've been there, and the places are truly fascinating. That's why, as you described them here, it vividly brought back memories of when I was there.

That time difference here and there would get tiresome. I'd love to do some fishing. I love fresh trout. YUM!

Great view. The time constantly changing would be confusing

So you're on your way back? Didn't want to tick off Idaho and Washington while you were out that way?

No, I have a doctor’s appointment next week so I “don’t have time.” I just got a message this morning that a friend of mine passed away this morning, too.

You are getting to see so much of our country. Is this a first for you in these states?

I’ve been on that drive years ago with my sister, when she lived in Colorado. It truly is beautiful! I’m so glad you are having such a nice trip!!!

So stunning, either side of the road you look on, or straight ahead!
