Tomorrow my eldest daughter iss coming for lunch. I am preparing a wonderful luncheon as I see her about once every year. I have appetizers and will prepare tomorrow a escalivada (I just learned that the French name for escalivada is ratatouille). Then, as the main dish, she wanted tongue and boiled potatoes with homemade mayo. And I still have cake if she want some or ice cream. Awesome. I After lunch, Camila will come to take me to the drugstore to fetch me vitamin D. I hope it helps. I have noticed that I am not interested in eating much. And then, at about 3 AM, my tummy starts to hurt. Finally Mario did not come to fix my bed. I don´t knnow when he will come. My last piece of news is that the cane is in a corner of my room. Í´m walking slowly with my own feet.

You should try to eat alittle something. It's not good to go without. I hope you enjoy your visit with your daughter. Sounds like quite a spread you are making. Hopefully you can continue to do without the cane. Good for you!

I hope the vitamin D will help. Dixie says it is a miracle.

I thought that the vegetables for escalivada are grilled, those for the ratatouille are not grilled. Enjoy your time with your daughter.

I cook the veggies for the escalivada in my electric oven. That´s how I was taught. I have seen lately online the ratatouille in an oven too but cut in a different way.

I hope you have a wonderful time with your girl, Marga. That's great news about the cane...if you get out and about and shop, etc. will you take it with you? I am glad you can walk, but you might get tired out if you walk super far. Take good care!

It sounds like tomorrow will be a really special day—sharing a lovely lunch with your eldest daughter after a whole year apart. Your menu already sounds delicious, especially the escalivada and the tongue with boiled potatoes and homemade mayo. It’s great that you’re also feeling well enough to walk on your own without the cane—that’s a big milestone! I hope your vitamin D helps with your appetite and that your tummy starts behaving better soon. And fingers crossed Mario finally shows up to fix that bed!
