I made some Boston cream donuts yesterday

I had been seeing some recipes online about how to make these using King's Hawaiian rolls. They are little slightly sweet rolls here often used for sliders. Anyway, they were pretty simple to make .and did taste quite similar to real donuts. I will make them again sometime

Yes, I used a homemade whipped cream with heavy cream and powdered sugar folded into vanilla instant pudding. You use a combo of heavy cream and melted chocolate chips for the icing on top. Molly Yeh, made some similar donuts to these use a vanilla tahini filling..no chocolate on top.

Real donuts are too expensive these days..unless you get them on sale or something. Alot of junk in them too.

I do like Boston Creme donuts and also Kings Hawaiian rolls but never would have thought to make donuts out of those rolls. Sounds delicious!

They were good..a bit time consuming, but worth it. There are several different recipes for these online. This looked to be the simplest.
