Here we go again.Once again I let our lives spiral. I've gotten over my head, and now American Express is suing, George. I had been keeping up the bills, I had been making changes, and then.... savings ran out. I have money tied up that I , we, can't touch until next year. I feel like my head is about to explode. And, even if I could get my hands on the money, I don't know in what planet, what bank would let me pay it in one lumb sum. they typicallly put restrictionns on things like that. And, the bank might not accept my atempts at writing a check. We're screwed. I thought I had been doing better, but Apparently not.

Have you called American Express and explained the situation to them, and requested a repayment plan? They want their money and if you tell them you want to pay them and ask for a way, they’ll usually gladly work with you.

That usually works before they close the account and file a suit. I'm not too worried. George has someone who can help.

Legal Aid is a good suggestion. Can you contact AMEX.. discuss your situation, and that you are both disabled..and see what they would be willing to accept in terms of payment?

If you talk to them perhaps you can work something out. You are not the first person to have this happen and I am sure they have a program that could help you. Then when you get that other money you could pay it off. Just an idea..

Call Legal Aid, get an appointment. They probably do appointments by video...they can advise you as to what to do. It's free to legally disabled people, and those on a low income.

No. I decided to use a layer that knows George. I don't trust so-called legal aide. It got used fed over..... when George got that DUI.

That sure hurts and is overwhelming. I hope you can get it figured out. You have done a fantastic job with all that has been on your plate. Hang in there.

That's a big stressor. Try not to stress about it too much though. I know that's not the right thing to say, but there's not really something that's going to make it all better. I am so sorry y ou are going through that.
