De Do Do De Da Da

This kind of silly love song came on the radio and it brought me back to yesterday. “De Do Do De Da Da” is a song sung by The Police and it reminded me of the days when my girlfriends and I would meet up with some handsome boys. At that point we most likely also stuttered and sounded pretty much like they sing in this song. It happens when you get tongue tied. This song came out as a single in 1980 and was the second single by The Police. It was written by Sting. The song made it on the UK Singles Chart and on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also released in Spanish and Japanese. It was featured in the movie “The Last American Virgin” in 1982 and appeared in the pilot episode for the TV medical drama “St. Elsewhere”.

Yup I remember this song. My daughter was a teen in the 80s and a big Police fan. Needless to say I heard this song and all their others countless times

That was one of their strangest hits. I guess the repetitiveness of it is why it was such a hit for them
