A new jigsaw for me

I have a new jigsaw to do. This one says ‘The World of Miss Marple’. Our son gave it to me for my birthday. I haven’t started it yet. Apparently, there are hidden clues to each of her television shows. I haven’t watched any of her shows so I won't really know which bits are from the series or not. I have two jigsaws to do at the moment. The other one is of a pair of Shire horses in a brewery dray. I might be doing that one first. This one looks to have a lot of similar colouring. Did any of you watch the TV series?

I don't think so, but I know Miss Marple is a dectective in some Agatha Christie novels.

Agatha Christie certainly wrote a huge number of crime novels.

That looks fun. I am doing one now that has very unusual cut pieces. I couldn't even figure out all the edge pieces. Never seen that show

@wolfgirl569 I have a number of empty margarine tubs. I sit in front of the TV and pick out all the pieces of a certain colour, or it might be all the roof or wall pieces.

The newer puzzles can be quite tricky as regards the edges. Sometimes you just have to start with a significant area rather than worrying about the edges.

I remember I have 1000 pieces of jigsaw long time ago. It's an old oil painting jigsaw. The result is I didn't finish it at last

Some of the 1000 pieces are very difficult and can take ages.

It's just a jigsaw so I don't think it will matter that I don't know much about her.

The puzzle should be interesting. I read a few of the Miss Marple books way back when but never watched the television series.

For some reason, I read very few crime novels.

@JudyEv I will read almost anything... The only real exceptions to that are biographies and autobiographies. I tend not to read scary books, too, because they give me nightmares.

@DaddyEvil I find autobiographies quite interesting sometimes, depending who writes them. I think I have a better understanding of who they were and what drove them but they could really tell you anything.

No, I didn't watch the TV series. I haven't done a jigsaw puzzle in a few years.

Sounds interesting. I have read a few of Miss Marple mysteries many years ago. Heard there was a TV series but did not get a chance to watch any,

@judyev We’ve just completed this Agatha Christie one. The TV series are ok but I prefer the books.

I don't go much on crime/mystery novels. I don't have anything against them but never seem to find myself reading them. That jigsaw doesn't look that easy, either.

Miss Marple is one of my favourite characters…..if you need any help with clues give me a shout ! I love most things written by Agatha Christie. I gave a couple of friends who spend a fortune at charity shops buying jigsaws almost weekly. Sometimes they get annoyed when there are pieces missing.

That is a challenge. How long do you think it takes to complete it?

1,000 pieces...will be a challenge..but looks really interesting. I have read a few of Agath Chrisy's books...thinking atleast 1 or 2 with Miss Marple. Growing up I read Nancy Drew mysteries. Love Detective shows as well. Grew up watching Perry Mason, I spy, Man From U.N.C.L.E, and The Avengers. The puzzles I do on line rarely go above 500 pieces. I just purchased a set of Mystery Puzzles. Nothing to do with Mysteries, but all the puzzles I have been doing had pictures that let me know what the puzzle will look like when I am done. THIS set of puzzles has no picture. You don't know what you are making until you get about halfway through the puzzle. I have done a couple of them. One was like a picture of a car show, with several pretty vintage cars.

I can imagine those Mystery Puzzles would be very tricky.
