Stray dogs the world over need to be recognised needing homes and not shelters. In the first place people should be educated about stray dogs being as intelligent, loving, caring, loyal and faithful as the pedigree dogs They are robust and healthier Preiti was a stray We found her to be dignified, well behaved, loving, faithful and loyal . She lived for 12 years, leaving behind happy memories. Hope the powers that be will take this step.

Apparently, Indian courts are already trying to do something about the stray dog problem, at least in New Delhi.

I am in the favour of supreme court because in the past stray dogs have bitten many passerby in the colonies.

@sjvg1976 They should offer incentives for people to adopt them, have contests only for strays and have creches to take car ewhen owners go somewhere.

We don't have stray dogs on the streets here. They're all in shelters. More and more seem to be getting their new dogs from these places.

We have lakhs here and we do have a problem how to handle them . I only hope individuals will take some interest. We had Preiti for 12 years - a stray - and she bit none
