Waiting for friend to get here

We are going on our weekend trip tomorrow morning, to the class reunion and we are going to take his car to the city today. I have a couple of errands. Actually, what I had hoped to do was drop it off at the local garage for him to work on it while we were gone, but the guy called me this morning..he said he had to go out of town for an emergency and isn't sure when he is going to be back... Now, of course we also had the lawn guy with an emergency. That is super disappointing with the car. I had hoped to get that resolved while I was gone. Another garage here two of the mechanics are off or something and the main guy is overloaded. There is a place I could take it, but they always take a long time to work on vehicles. If I took it somewhere in the city..it would be expensive. It is driveable, I guess I will just try to wait until the place I wanted to take it to is open again, but then of course he will probably say he is backed up or something..
