Has anyone here attended a Quaker meeting? Quakers or the Society of Friends intrigue me. Their belief that everybody is sacred sounds like a core belief to me. They remind me of The Unitarians but they don't have a minister up front bossing folks. Each person in the meeting house is quiet, waiting for the Divine to speak to them or when someone has a thought, that person speaks it out loud, everyone else respectfully listening. Very meditative. I might look into whether there is a way for me to get to a meeting. I very much like the idea of peace and love and taking the time to listen.
The photo is one I took of the Pacific ocean when we were on our vacation. Fog and a fishing boat. Got to love the gray!

We have a very nice Quaker Meeting House not far from here. I went with a friend a few times. It was different yet wonderfully special. The tranquility in that meeting is amazing. During the quiet time anyone can speak what’s on their minds and hearts.

I haven’t been around any Quakers that I remember. We have seen Mennonites and the Amish.

@Tampa_girl7 Funny how the Quakers are quietly in the background, spreading goodwill and peace. Not many know about them.

@wolfgirl569 The Quakers helped shape America. They are big into peace not war.

There was a scene in the movie Friendly Persuasion that was exactly what you talked about. The men and women were separated too. I don't know of an Quaker meeting houses here. Good luck!
