Dark and windy today under the hurricane influence, but the sun should come out as it pulls away. I am planning to go shopping today. That is always a good time. I am going to go in Culpeper as their stores are all lined up and easy to access, besides I am going to take myself out to lunch at a restaurant that I like and is affordable. I thought that whole chain had closed down because of the pandemic, but I discovered last year at least some locations were able to re open. do you know any restaurants near you that closed during the pandemic, but were able to re open? In the US, CiCi's pizza is another example.

It's supposed to be a nicer day here than the last few days. The temps stay under 90F for three or four days. 
We loved Cicis pizza in Springfield, Missouri before the pandemic. Several restaurants here closed down and only a few of them re-opened afterwards. The Cicis pizza location we used to go to never re-opened. But there is still one on Battlefield up there.

I don't think all the locations re opened here either, but some did, same with the other chain. That one is kind of a state wide one. They don't do business outside of VA to my knowledge.

@snowy22315 Most of the restaurants that left here were not part of a chain. They were little mom & pop places.

I know of a few that closed down due to the pandemic, but never reopened. Enjoy your lunch.

Thanks, one kind of larger chain in the Pittsburgh area never re opened and closed all their locations..but they were kind of struggling before the pandemic I believe.

@AmbiePam Yes, I really enjoy their salad bar, but my my real favorite is the hot vegetables. I am making myself hungry..lol.

Thanks, I rarely go to CiCi's but have enjoyed it the times I have been. The place I am going today is kind of a small buffet. They don't have that many items but they are good. They also have lots of salads.

I am glad you are going out to lunch. I think our restaurants re-opened for the most part, but in the last few months we’ve lost several.

All restaurants during pandemic were closed in India.Govt passed very strict rules.Not even one restaurant was permitted to open. Only necessities were sold in limited malls. It was so tough situation here.How you felt I don't know.but here it was really tough.Police has given full rights on public.If they found any one on road they were So rude to them with government orders.

They were closed here at first, but then were allowed to open to a certain capacity, and with certain spaces between people. Not all restaurants followed that rule though. I went to one in the Fall of 2020 or 2021 which was packed with patrons.

During the lockdown there were no relief for any vendor.especially food seller lost their business completely

Yes the loss is irreversible.Many lost lives and livelihood. I could be able to see the situation of small vendors.

Glad to hear the storm is moving away and you’re still able to enjoy a shopping trip and treat yourself to lunch! That sounds like a nice little outing. Yes, there were quite a few places here that shut down during the pandemic, and I was surprised when some managed to come back. It feels good seeing a familiar restaurant reopen, almost like a little sign of hope. CiCi’s Pizza is a good example — I remember hearing about locations closing too. I think many people missed those spots more than they realized until they were gone.

Its still hot here but weather is slowly changing and coming to moderate. Hopefully winter will be back soon.
