My heart aches.

A song just popped up my playlist and the opening lines left me weak at the knees and with a gut full of nostalgia. If @maluse were still around she’d comment “Oh you and your nostalgia!” I miss Maluse. The words from Mentissa are “Gare du Nord en Novembre, les cheveux en pigaille…” and she had me right there just stepping out of Gare du Nord late in the afternoon of a cold, dry winter day. I head towards Rue d’Alsace to meet my brother in Café Les Deux Gares; from there we take the number 46 bus to Avenue Daumesnil where friends are waiting for us to eat in Chez Ma Belle Mére. November is the best time for being in Paris.

My one regret is that we won't get back to France again.

@judyev I’m unlikely to ever be in Paris again other than flying there to get the train to my brother in Normandy - it’s really only for millionaires now.

@xFiacre I'm not fussed about Paris but would to travel though the countryside again and buy baguettes every morning.

I was in touch with Maluse by e-mail, but it is a long time she does not answer back. I noticed serious memory problems during the past previous months. I wonder if she still lives alone. Do not mention France or I also feel full of nostalgia.

So I will schedule my travels so I am in Paris in November. Enjoy my birthday there. Enjoy your time with friends.

And I always thought that it was April in Paris that was the special time. Isn't it very cold and snowy in November?

Hearing most music from the 60s makes me full of nostalgia, especially when it comes to my late husband.
