Son's bday today. If my car was running properly, I would have brought him down here this weekend assuming he was willing to come. Oh well, I will give him a call later. I bought him a large quantity of fresh beef jerky from Bucees. He loves jerky, and one of the things they are known for is a jerky bar of sorts, think of a meat market but for jerky, where they make it fresh onsite. I got him Teriyaki and Korean beef. I think friend has given it to him already since they are close by. CBS is doing a story on New Orleans. Have you ever been? That is one cool city.

I was there one year in February. It was pleasant. Don't think I would be too interested in going in humid season.

@snowy22315 That eliminates possibly 9 months of the year, but those three pleasant months certainly are nice weather wise and ALWAYS pretty to see. You’re making me want to head out first of the year!
My sister took several pictures of the kids touring educational places in New Orleans and around it , and it is sobering to see these little kids walk around plantations, and see what their ancestors had to deal with.

@AmbiePam Friend has been talking about going to Florida. The panhandle is a place I have never explored and not super far from New Orleans. Could be a trip I guess.

Weeks? wow..long time I was just there 2 days I think. Sis was there for some kind of conference and she says her major memory was she was dying of thirst. She was ignoring the delicious food in her quest for water.

I've never been to New Orleans. I don't know why, though. Pretty and I drove all over the rest of the US.

There are a huge counter at the airport full of all sorts of beef jerky. A very happy birthday to your son. Our Irish son had his birthday yesterday (24th) but I'm not sure if you're up to the 24th or 25th.
