Can a Man Become a Woman?

Simple question. Biology dictates male and female. There's no question. Can a biological male become a female? If a person that was born a man and lives as a woman, does it make that man a woman? It's called gender dysphoria and is classified as a mental illness. In the past several years, there has been a push to demand that everyone accepts these men as women. I will never accept that. Your chromosomes are either XX (female) or XY (male). I'm not bashing transpersons or calling for their elimination, I'm looking to see what reality says here at MyLot. What do you say?

Your post speaks of gender disphoria, mental illness and what YOU accept. I accept and respect people as they wish to be.

@Vikingswest1 I respect and accept all people that do the same with the rest of human beings. I´m a white woman but one of the people I admire is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

There are adults that identify as children. There are whites that identify as blacks. There are minors that identify as adults. Do you accept those people too or are there limits in your mind?

@Vikingswest1 in his mind he is a woman and no longer considers himself a man, Cher's daughter Chastity became a male gender and so considers herself no matter that she was born a girl, What they choose to be is not what their bodies say.

@RasmaSandra What they consider themselves isn't really a determining factor. If I consider myself black, can I become black? No. Of course not.

@porwest Oh it's different. You can't change color or age... I am so tired of hearing that every time you try to point out the lunacy in their arguments. The tolerant party isn't so tolerant.

Physically, a man can never be a woman. However, they can feel it in their hearts that they were.

@Vikingswest1 Out of respect, I let them feel that they were. I do not judge them for being different. With regard to the facilities you mentioned, it is still debatable to add more rooms for them to enjoy. I am an advocate of gender equality, and hopefully, they will be accepted without being judged. It is just my opinion about this matter.

@Shavkat I have too much respect for women to let biological males invade their spaces. It's not fair to women to let men compete against them or be present in private areas.

I get that. I agree. But. At what point do you call them out for it? When they use women's restrooms or dorms? In sporting events? Locker rooms at the local pool?

You are born a women or a man and no matter what you try and change you are still a man or women according to what you were when you were born,

No, a man can not become a woman. And, no, a woman can not become a man.

I think the same way. I am not bashing them or am I looking to exclude them from life. I just don't believe I should be forced to pretend their delusion is reality.

There are some out there - highly respected and not seeking any limelight - who truly believe they were born into the wrong body. The mental illness occurs when this is denied.

I believe there are many people that believe they were born in the wrong body. When I was very young, I struggled as a boy in a woman's body. Every day I was twisted and turned while trapped inside a woman's body. Then my mother gave birth to me and changed that. All kidding aside, I don't want to bash those that believe they are women despite being born a man. They have to struggle with that, I'm just saying its unfair to others to have to pretend and accept their dystopia as a fact.

@JudyEv I believe that many people are attention seekers. It's not limited to transgenders.

@Vikingswest1 Fair enough and I'm sure there are many who are in it for the attention they receive.

I agree with it that no man born as man can become a woman but he can live like a woman. We can change our physical appearances but not internal things in our body. Chromosomes can never be changed.

That's just how I see it too. No amount of surgeries, make up, hormones or fake eyelashes will make a person born as a male, change into a female.

While intersexism (having genitals of both genders or no obvious genitals) is a real thing (see the link from the Cleveland Clinic), it is rare and isn’t based on “feeling.”

Between 0.008 and 1% of all births belong in this category. My question was can a man become a woman? But you knew that.
