Sleep well my friend

Ugh I am sick this morning. A long time family friend has been battling cancer for months. She rang the bell when her radiation was done. . . but then things got worse with just chemotherapy. Like she rang the bell a month ago. I was informed yesterday that she was put on hospice. That hurt me because she had just rung the bell and her personality was HUGE. She lived just 1 block up the road from the house and would come over sometimes to have drinks and enjoy a summer evening. So she was put on hospice yesterday and passed this morning at 3am. A friend/neighbor and I were texting earlier. She said she was so upset that it happened so quickly. My response was that it was difficult to determine if it was a blessing or a tragedy that she went so fast. I tend to think that it was a blessing. My friend said that my text/response was perfect. It is hard to lose people we love but I think a quick passing is the best way to go when you know they are dying. So today the sun is shining but the world isn't as bright without our dear friend.

Once you're on your way, the quicker the better in my opinion. I'm really sorry you've lost your friend. I'm sure it really hurts.

I am so sorry Chicaa. I agree that in a cancer situation, it's better to go quickly.

I’m thankful to hear the suffering was not prolonged. And thank you for telling us about her. I’m sorry to see a person like that go, but I’m very glad they existed.
