So last Tuesday Mom rang the pharmacy to order her medication …..various items ….she expected to collect last Thursday when she was doing her shopping, but when she asked they said they hadn’t come in. She asked when she would be able to collect them and was told Tuesday or Wednesday. She had enough tablets til the Thursday so she didn’t worry about a special journey to collect them. We were at the hospital on Wednesday anyway so that would have been tricky.
When we went today she asked for her prescription ….told him her name and address…..
He came back after an age with a tiny packet.
“ That’s not all of them “ she says
The young man looks at her
“ There should be more, I ordered them altogether “
Young man looks at her
Young man sighs, shrugs, attempts a smile ….fails
“ what should you have ?”
“ I can’t remember all the names ( she is 87 ) ….but if you check my prescription details you will find out “
Young man shrugs, slopes away ….
Another age passes …..
He comes back with all the energy and excitement of a 4 year old in a Batman cape …..
“ I’ve found it, I’ve found it …..”
Quick check in the huge paper bag ….yes it was all there.
We thanked our newly appointed Superhero and went on our way ….

It can be very worrying . Some folk think it’s just handling over tablets ….but, they have to be so careful when packing them and handing them over that they are the correct medication, correct dosage and correct quantity.
There is a lot of pressure involved as they are dealing with people’s lives …..

Oh she definitely is on the ball ….although to be fair one small item compared with the huge bag she was given after the check, would have alerted anyone that it wasn’t right.

Walmart Pharmacy is bad about not getting medications by the time they say they'll have them. It's really annoying. When I could drive all the time, it didn't really matter when the prescriptions came in, I could always go and pick them up. Now that I have trouble driving and Pretty doesn't drive, it matters... We switched pharmacies because we couldn't get our prescriptions on time any more. The new pharmacy brings them to us when the prescriptions are ready.

Mom usually goes into town once a week just for shopping ….it is a nuisance if she orders in good time and they don’t get them in.

Good thing you didn't just accept the package and leave finding out later that you were missing more meds.
Something similar happened to me recently when they only filled half the meds and still owed me more tablets. I wasn't paying attention at the time only to realize days later that I hadn't gotten my whole prescription.

I always check my medications but I have no choice but to do mylot because I have neuralgia and can't stay in a warm temperature room like in the afternoon.
