Wooooo small class sizes!

We finally are able to get into our class rosters and the grading program today. I was floored to see that 3 of my CP classes have fewer than 15 students. One of them has 22. The Honors section has 28. I've never seen such small class sizes.
The whole thing is nuts. I still can't even believe that our union and the BOE came to an agreement on a contract so quickly since the district is struggling so much with funding. They were spelling doom and gloom with class sizes up to 40 for elementary schools. . .
I literally have classes with 12 and 14 students in them. Very odd. I mean I love small classes but I was not expecting that at all for this year. 28 in an H class is normal. I remember the days of having up to 35. 28 doesn't intimidate me. It is just crazy to see such small numbers.

I am glad to hear this. So many classes here, especially high school, are so very large. Never enough teachers, so they pack the kids in there. Sad.

Maybe it will help with stress and give you a bit less work. Maybe!

Glad to see you have a large honors class. Now please don’t tell me that the honors classes are the ones you have the most problems with.

I remember that 30-35 was normal in the schools I attended. You will have better one-on-one with smaller classes.

Yeah that's a really good thing. We had a 60:1 student to teacher ratio!
