Dropping off the Granddaughter

My grandson popped in yesterday around 2:30 after his classes were over at UL at Monroe and brought in his laundry. My husband made it in right at 3:30 to bring the grandson's dorm refrigerator. They both rode with me to deliver the granddaughter to her dad for his weekend visitation.
Her dad was a bit late and managed to sneak in the parking lot and park behind a big truck where his friend's truck could not be seen. After he was almost 15 minutes late, I texted my daughter to text him and find out where he was. He replied that he had been there waiting for us. While he was indeed there, he had not been there long and told my daughter that WE were late. The exchange went okay and his friend was more communicative than he was and smiled and waved. Oh well.
We were getting hungry and had looked for some place to eat while driving down to drop granddaughter off. We didn't find anything but there was a BQ place and a steak/seafood/sushi place in the shopping center where we met. We let the grandson choose and he chose the steak/seafood/sushi restaurant.
I think we all regretted the decision after getting our food. I'll have to write up a little review about that adventure.
I will have to drive back Monday to pick up my granddaughter, but I'm hoping that my daughter and son in law will be back to keep me company on the drive.
I hope everyone has a nice Labor Day weekend. Any special plans?

My ex used to do that. She'd borrow another vehicle to pick Pretty up in and then claim I didn't show up until way late... I started taking pictures of every vehicle in the lot and showed the judge that her car wasn't there... The judge got tired of it and told her to drive her car or call me and say she wasn't picking Pretty up.
A couple of times she'd park behind me, blocking me from leaving and she'd walk to a shopping mall and stay gone for hours. I learned to park longwise in several parking spaces so she couldn't block me in. (The judge told me if she blocked my car again, to call a tow truck and he'd make her pay for towing her car away.)
Have a good weekend!

@DaddyEvil I'm guessing the judge groaned when you again walked into the courtroom.

I our country the Labour Day is celebrated on the first of May.
I can imagine it must be a very pleasant moment to meet your grandson and grand daughter. Last year my mother's elder sister had come to see her. She is now in her 90s. This year my mother is planning to go to her.
I hope, we will leave by the middle of the next week.

@kareng I worry about my son not returning Adeline to her mom. He has consistently been late since mom got custody.

I'm sorry the restaurant was disappointing. Cousin #2 is coming to do her usual since she has no Labor Day plans.

Just doing a couple of things in the community. I was considering swimming, but it has really been pretty cool lately, not quite sure how the water would be. Besides could be a lot of people around due to the weekend, but so far doesn't seem too super busy.
