Cats are funny animals. They don't jump up and wage their tails when you come in like dogs do. They are much more aloof. But they do have their ways of showing you they love you. Here's just a few: * Do they follow you around? Even to the bathroom. It's not just curiosity, it's trust. Being close to you brings them comfort. * A cat that will rest beside you or on your lap is one that feels safe and is emotionally bonded to your mere presence and scent. * Does your cat(s) blink in your direction sometimes? If you find them staring at you or gently blinking that is their way of saying "I Love you". * When they bring toys over to you that means they are sharing and that you are a part of their trusted circle. * And, rather obviously, if your cat stretches out on their backs near you, they are showing you they feel completely safe and relaxed. * If your cat(s) rubs its face or body against you it is claiming you as part of their territory and showing its strong and exclusive bond with you. * By licking you they are showing a social behavior that is both affectionate and showing that you are a part of their family unit. * If your cats stay close to you when you are down or not well it's their quiet way of offering comfort, loyalty, and emotional support. These felines we bring into our lives are so sweet. I think that those people who don't like cats must not like comfy, affectionate, close and everlasting companionship. I haven't had cats in about 70 years. We had some feral cats and kittens at the house. My grandmother would feed them milk. I had a rabbit at that time too. When I got married we had a dog/s and had dogs for the next 50 years or so.

Oh yeah. Sonny James. I'd come in from feeding the chickens- gone maybe 10 minutes- and he'd fall on the floor and show off his big belly in greeting. I find that Siamese cats love to touch and hold on.

One of my cats is always at the door to greet me whenever I get home—it's like it knows I'm coming even before I open the gate. The other one loves giving me slow blinks and keeps rubbing its head on my legs, always nudging me for attention.
