I am going to do it

It is a little early, but I am going to do it. I am going to put the heated mattress pad back on the bed.
It sounds strange, I know, but when I got wet coming in from the rain yesterday I was really cold later.
From the forecasts I am seeing I believe we will have a cold winter, pretty harsh. I want to be ready if it slips up on us.
Having the heated mattress cover there does not mean I have to turn it on just yet, but it is a good option for whenever it does turn off cold.
We have had so much rain this last few days that many of the Labor Day activities got cancelled or postponed. The fireworks and ice cream social have been put off to Halloween. Some of the trivia type contests will be held today when they have the kids games. I do not know if they will have any tractor pull competitions or not.

I am wearing a jacket inside my room with no air conditioning, but I feel cold.
Heaters are not usually used in our country, but air conditioning is. But since it is Ber monts already, Christmas is most likely one of the coldest seasons in the Philippines.

Good for you. I know a lot of people say they try to “hold out” until Thanksgiving or December 1 before turning their heat on. Easy in Florida; not so easy in the Midwest. Personally, I’m old, so if I’m cold, I’m turning the furnace on!
So get that heated mattress cover ready to go!

The weather can certainly spoil plans from time to time.

I think you are doing well by placing the quilt on time and as you say, you do not need to turn it on now but leave it on just in case, only at a given moment, just lower it and that's it. I'm just like you, I like to prevent things in time.

I had the heat turned on for several days. The evening temps were in the 40s and 50s. Now it's in the high 70s and 80; so the air will go back on. Sigh. I hope this doesn't mean that we're going to have a bad winter.

It is seeming to be cool early for sure. I don't remember weather this constantly cool this time of the year. Just again I saw the temp is supposed to be 50 again tonight. Long sleeved jammies for me. I have been using the comforter as well..no electric blanket yet.

This is one of the first cooler days we've had in quite a while. At almost 11 am we're still at 69F with rain here. We haven't gotten nearly as much rain as you have, either. The grass here was starting to die until the light rain we had last week. When the neighbor mowed a few days ago, the grass started looking bad here. I'm sure it will perk up again now that it's raining.
The forecast is showing we'll be back up to 90F by next Wednesday even if this Wednesday is only supposed to reach 83F.
I'm wondering if we'll be seeing an early Winter this year.
