I couldn't believe he said that

So, yesterday, as I mentioned one of the things I bought at Dollar General Market was motor oil. I had a question about it, and since the cashier was a guy, I decided to ask him on the off chance he would know the answer. Anyway, I asked him "Do you know about cars?" Pretty vague and non descriptive I must admit, but most would answer yes or no to that. He said, "Well, I know what you mean by cars..Really?? He knows what a car is..What a genius... I couldn't believe I kept a straight face, or a sarcastic retort out of my mouth. but I'm a nice person, and he wasn't under any obligation to answer questions. Anyway, he reaffirmed what I was thinking about the oil, but after that response..don't think I care. Has anybody said anything unbelievable to you lately?

Probably not lately. I did get a maintenance man come in who saw me watching ESPN and said, Oh, ESPN. Where’s your husband? That was a few months ago. He seemed shocked when I said I wasn’t married and that I was the sports fanatic.

Apparently Mr. clueless doesn't believe there are female sports fans. Where does he think the ones doing the reports on sidelines are? Obviously, they know a thing or two about sports.

A while ago a friend phoned me for some information. I didn’t have the paperwork to answer her so I said “ talk to Dave because he was sorting that out and he will know “ Instead of saying “ thank you , I will “ She said “ is he in ?” I laughed and said I didn’t know as we lived in different houses live twenty minutes away from each other. She didn’t see what she had done and just replied “ oh “

Nothing comes to my mind right now. In the past I remember guys who looked at me not believing I can fix a computer. As only men could do that.

It's probably not typical, but not unbelievable. In the past friend liked to go to a computer fix it shop because the main shop owner and computer tech was a woman. He had a bit of a crush on her..however, sadly for him, she was married.

@snowy22315 Your poor friend was not lucky. If a woman knows how to fix computers, she is usually married to a computer nerd.

It's amazing sometimes how today's young people can know very little about some subjects.

You gotta consider that a lot of retail folks are disabled mentally challenged and the stores are kind enough to hire them.

I haven't found that to be the case other than Kroger. They have to be able to run a register after all. Although I am certain in these days..nobody is having to count back any change . DG is not a kind chain. It's a bad job nobody lasts long in.

@LooeyVille In the city they have a couple of high functioning Downs on the register. They seem to do fine. About 2 percent of the people with The syndrome are really smart..with IQ's approaching average.

I don't get out to the stores anymore. In one way that's a blessing.
