Autumn rain has arrived in my corner of the world. Hubby basically wanted to have a meet and greet with a new to him Doc yesterday. Did that.
Today I managed to get Fred cat into the carrier. I really need to fork some cash over and buy a bigger carrier. We had a horrid time getting his bulk into it. The Vet helper weighed him and shocked me- only 16.2 pounds. I was sure he weighed at least 20 pounds. He is a gentle souled cat. The Vet leaned in and put her stethoscope against him then and said that for sure his heart beats were way off. She said to continue the liquid heart meds. She then ordered a blood test.
Fred finally came out of the carrier. One of the helpers came to take Fred to the back for his blood test. Fred refused to go back into the carrier so the helper bundled him up on one arm and had the carrier on the other arm. She said that cats were supposed to be in carriers! Fred kept looking back at me as they left. Yes he was in the carrier when she brought him to the reception area. I managed to get us out of there without a five hundred dollar bill. That was also amazing.

Fred cat certainly is lucky to have you as his "mom". You take such good care of him.

I know it would be expensive, but could you take him to a specialist? You might buy him some time. Sounds like he is eating well at least

@snowy22315 Fred is doing okay. I can't honestly say that I will take my fur kids down the freeway for their Vet visits. I sure am not going to try going there for a specialst. Maybe it is mean: Fred. I love the silly guy but you know, he has had at least five years of life that he would not have had if I hadn't grabbed him off that busy highway.

Fred certainly sounds a big cat. It can be hard to put cats anywhere where they don't want to go.
