Reasons Why Some Cats May Bite Unprovoked

My daughter has been bitten by her cats several times over the last few years. It's makes her feel so badly emotionally. I feel bad for her. I researched it a bit and here are some reasons cats may bite you: * Some cats just don't like to be pet. Know your cat. * They may want your attention. They may do this to initiate play or show that they want to play. * Over stimulation. If the tail twitches, ears flatten, or their body tenses up then they may be over stimulated. * They may be in pain or discomfort for some reason. Check the cat out or seek the help of a veterinarian. * Some cats show affection by what are called 'love bites'. They are typically light and playful, not intended to hurt but they can be surprising.

And some are just bad tempered little critters.

When my cats scratch me, it is because they want to tell me that they like me a lot.

I am not a cat person so don’t go close enough to any to know……I love dogs much more.

I have had cats around all of my life. I've had some good dogs in my life too.

My cat Adso will try to bite me when I sneeze. . . especially if I sneeze 2 or 3 times in a row. I have no idea why but at least now I know to watch out for him when it happens.

The act of sneezing might surprise your cat. That would be the only reason I can think of.

Some are just ornery. My dogs never bit me except for Ice; and that incident was understandable.
